Biography

Felipe Drugovich was born on 23 May 2000 in Maringá, in the Brazilian state of Paraná. He raced karts in Brazil and Europe before moving into single-seaters in 2016. In ADAC Formula 4 he drove first for Neuhauser Racing and then, a year later, for Van Amersfoort Racing. With that team he won seven races and finished third overall, while also contesting Italian Formula 4. He took the MRF Challenge title as well. In 2018 he became Euroformula Open champion with RP Motorsport, winning fourteen races and clinching the crown at Monza with two rounds still to run.

In 2019 he drove for Carlin in the first FIA Formula 3 Championship and finished sixteenth with eight points. He stepped up to Formula 2 with MP Motorsport in 2020 and ended his rookie season ninth on 121 points, with three wins and a pole position. In 2021 he raced for UNI-Virtuosi alongside Guanyu Zhou, finishing eighth on 105 points with four podiums but no win. He returned to MP Motorsport in 2022 and won the Formula 2 title with 265 points, 101 clear of Théo Pourchaire. His season brought five wins, four poles and eleven podiums, and the championship was settled at Monza.

Two days after clinching the title, Drugovich was announced as the first member of the newly created AMF1 Driver Development Programme and as a reserve driver for Aston Martin. He never started a Grand Prix. In 2023 he was also part of McLaren's pool of reserve drivers for the first 15 races. He drove the AMR23 in pre-season testing in Bahrain while Lance Stroll was injured. In first practice he appeared at the 2023 Italian Grand Prix and at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he was second fastest. In 2024 he took part in first practice in Mexico City and Abu Dhabi, and in 2025 in Bahrain and Hungary, where he stood in for the injured Fernando Alonso. He left Aston Martin after the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

In Formula E he made his debut in 2025 at the Berlin E-Prix as a stand-in for Mahindra Racing, replacing Nyck de Vries, who was committed to the World Endurance Championship. He finished seventh in the second race and scored his first points. Andretti then signed him to race alongside Jake Dennis in 2025-26. In 2024 he also contested the European Le Mans Series with Vector Sport, finishing third at Imola, and took 15th in the Hypercar class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Cadillac. His maternal uncles, Sérgio and Oswaldo Drugovich Jr., are also racing drivers.
