Biography

Isack Hadjar was born in Paris on 28 September 2004 into a family of Algerian origin. He was given a kart at the age of seven and began racing in 2012. In 2018 he finished 22nd at the Karting World Championship. He moved up to French F4 in 2019 and won his first single-seater race at Spa. In 2020 he finished third in the championship, as the highest-placed French driver.

In 2021 Hadjar took fifth place in the Formula Regional European Championship with R-ace GP and was the best rookie. In 2022 he finished third in Formula Regional Asia with Hitech and won three races in FIA Formula 3. From 2022 he was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team. He ended his first Formula 2 season with Hitech in 2023 in 14th place. In 2024 he won four races for Campos and led the standings going into the summer break, but lost the title to Gabriel Bortoleto in the Abu Dhabi finale and finished as runner-up.

Hadjar took part in his first Formula One practice session in 2023 in Mexico for AlphaTauri. In September 2024 he became reserve driver for Red Bull and Racing Bulls. He made his Formula One debut with Racing Bulls at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. His first points came with eighth place in Japan. At the Dutch Grand Prix he finished third for his first podium, and he ended the season 12th with 51 points. In 2026 he was promoted to Red Bull, where he drives alongside Max Verstappen. On his first race weekend for the team in Australia he qualified third, but an early engine failure ended his race.
