Biography
Richard Robarts was born on 22 September 1944 in Bicknacre, England. He began racing in Formula Ford in 1969 and stayed in the category until 1972. In 1973 he drove a GRD in Formula Three and shared the British Formula 3 championship title with Tony Brise.
He reached Formula One in 1974, making his debut on 13 January 1974 for Brabham. After three races he lost his seat there to Rikky von Opel. He later found a place at Williams, but never started a race for them, as the team gave the drive to Tom Belsø instead. In total he was entered four times, started three races and scored no championship points. He later raced in Formula 2 before switching to other categories.
