Biography
Juan Manuel Bordeu was born in Balcarce, Argentina, on 28 January 1934. He was a protégé of Juan Manuel Fangio. A serious accident during testing ruined his prospects in Formula One.
His only World Championship entry came at the 1961 French Grand Prix, in a Lotus run by the UDT Laystall team. He did not start the race, as the car was ultimately driven by Lucien Bianchi. Bordeu kept racing until 1973 and afterwards represented Argentina as a delegate of FISA. He died on 24 November 1990.
