Biography

Antonio Fuoco was born in Cariati, Italy, on 20 May 1996. He started karting at the age of four and raced in several European championships. In 2012 he reached the KF2 class and finished third in the WSK Euro Series and fourth in the CIK-FIA European Championship. He moved into single-seaters in 2013 with Prema in Formula Renault 2.0 Alps, winning races at Vallelunga, Imola, Monza and Mugello. In 2014 he finished fifth in the European Formula Three Championship, again with Prema, with wins at Silverstone and Spielberg.

In GP3 he drove for Carlin in 2015 and for Trident in 2016, when he took his first victories in the series and finished third overall. In November 2016 it was announced that he would step up to Formula 2 in 2017, rejoining Prema alongside Charles Leclerc. His first Formula One test for Ferrari came in June 2015 at the Red Bull Ring, after the Austrian Grand Prix. In January 2019 he left the Ferrari Driver Academy and joined the Scuderia's simulator team. The 2020 Young Driver Test followed, along with post-season tests at Abu Dhabi in December 2021 and 2024. At the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix he drove in his first Friday free practice session for Ferrari. In 2018-19 he was also reserve and test driver for the Formula E team Dragon.

In 2023 Fuoco joined Ferrari AF Corse in the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship, sharing a Ferrari 499P with Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen. At the opening round in Sebring he took the manufacturer's first pole position in the championship's top class. In 2024 he won the Hypercar class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Nielsen and Molina in the number 50 Ferrari.
