William
Ferguson
Biography
William "Willie" Ferguson was born in Johannesburg on 6 March 1940 and died in Durban on 19 May 2007. The South African driver was entered in the 1972 South African Grand Prix, a round of the Formula One World Championship. He was due to race a Brabham BT33 for the local Team Gunston, but his engine failed in practice and he never started the race. It was his only World Championship entry.
The same team had also planned a Surtees TS9 for him, though in the end it was driven by John Love. Ferguson also took part in numerous Formula One races that were not part of the World Championship.
