Biography
Vic Wilson was born in Hull in 1931 and grew up in South Africa. The Briton was entered for two rounds of the Formula One World Championship, but he started only one of them.
His sole World Championship start came at the 1960 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Driving a privately run Cooper-Climax, he retired shortly before half distance. For the 1966 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps he was entered in a private BRM, but he had to hand the car over to the American Bob Bondurant before the race and so did not take part. He also competed in a number of Formula One races that did not count towards the World Championship.
Wilson died in 2001 in a road accident at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.
