Biography
Trevor Blokdyk was born in Krugersdorp, South Africa, in 1935. He rode motorcycle speedway, racing in Britain for Poole and Ipswich and earning six caps for the South African national team. In 1962 he gave up speedway to concentrate on motor racing, and towards the end of that year he travelled to Europe to compete in Formula Junior.
In 1963 he started a race at East London in a Cooper-Maserati and finished 12th. It was his only World Championship start. In 1965 he failed to qualify for the South African Grand Prix. In European Formula 3 he won races at Magny-Cours and Nogaro and raced there until 1969, before returning to South Africa for good. He later worked as a farmer and died in 1995.
