Biography
Toshio Suzuki was born on 10 March 1955 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. He won the All-Japan Kart Championship in 1975 and 1976, and in 1979 he took the title in the first All-Japan Formula Three Championship. In 1992 he won the 24 Hours of Daytona alongside Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Masahiro Hasemi, and in the same year he finished runner-up in the Japanese Formula 3000 championship. Despite sharing a surname, he is not related to fellow driver Aguri Suzuki.
In 1993 Suzuki contested two Grands Prix for Larrousse, standing in for Philippe Alliot. He finished both races but scored no championship points. He went on to race mainly in national championships, including Japanese Formula 3000, the Japanese Touring Car Championship and the JGTC grand touring series. He also took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and made a single start in the NASCAR Busch Series in 1996.
