Biography
Tony Crook was born in Manchester on 16 February 1920 and was educated at Clifton College in Bristol. Between 1946 and 1955 he racked up almost 400 wins and place finishes.
He made his World Championship debut on 19 July 1952 and started two championship races, for Frazer-Nash in 1952 and for Cooper in 1953. Both were Formula 2 races that counted towards the World Championship. Crook scored no points, and he also took part in several non-championship races. His career ended after an accident during the 1955 season, which he had already planned to be his last. He died on 21 January 2014.
