Tom
Jones
Biography
Tom Jones, whose full name was Earl Thomas Jones, was born in Dallas, Texas, on 26 April 1943. The American entered his own Cooper T82 for the 1967 Canadian Grand Prix. It was his only entry in the Formula One World Championship.
He had electrical problems in qualifying and managed just one very slow lap. The stewards refused him a place on the grid, so he had one entry but never started a World Championship race. Through the 1970s he raced on and off in various series before retiring in 1980. He died in Eastlake, Ohio, on 29 May 2015. His Cooper T82 still exists.
