Biography
Takachiho Inoue was born in Kobe in 1963. He raced in British Formula Ford in 1988, in Japanese Formula 3 from 1989 to 1993, and in International Formula 3000 in 1994.
He made his Formula One debut the same year, driving for Simtek at the 1994 Japanese Grand Prix, where he retired. In 1995 he drove for Footwork and took part in 17 races, giving him 18 starts in total, without scoring a championship point. There were two incidents that season. At Monaco, his stalled car was hit by a course vehicle while being towed and rolled into the barriers, though he was able to race the following day. In Hungary, he tried to help the marshals tackle the fire in his engine and was struck by a safety car. He was back for the next race.
For 1996 he was announced as a Minardi driver but never raced for the team. After a short spell in sportscars he retired from racing at the end of 1999, and later worked as a driver manager in Japan. He is also known for his habit of joking about himself.
