Biography
Roger Loyer was born in Paris in 1907 and was a motorcycle racer. He won the 250cc French motorcycle Grand Prix in 1937 and the 350cc edition the following year.
His Formula One World Championship career consisted of a single Grand Prix, the Argentine Grand Prix on 17 January 1954, where he drove a Gordini Type 16. The car ran out of oil and he scored no points. Shortly afterwards his car failed again in the non-championship Buenos Aires Grand Prix, but he then shared Élie Bayol's car and finished tenth. Loyer died in 1988.
