Biography
Paul England was born in Melbourne on 28 March 1929. The Australian raced his own sports car, the Ausca. It was powered by a Holden engine and had a fibreglass body modelled on the Maserati A6GCS.
In 1957 he took part in the German Grand Prix, his only round of the Formula One World Championship. He drove a Formula Two Cooper T41-Climax and retired with a distributor fault.
After returning from Europe, he used a car of the same name that was a completely different design: it had two Volkswagen engines, supercharged by a single shared supercharger. With it he won the Australian Hillclimb Championship in 1970, 1973 and 1974. England died on 17 June 2014.
