Biography
Loris Kessel was born in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1950. Before reaching Formula One he spent a couple of seasons in Formula Two, where he twice finished fourth at Hockenheim in a March.
He entered Formula One in 1976, driving a Brabham for the RAM team. That season he was entered five times and started three races. In 1977 he ran his own Apollon-Williams, but he was entered only once and did not start. He scored no World Championship points. After he retired from racing in 1981, he set up his own team, which competed in the Ferrari Challenge in Italy and in the main European series. Kessel died in Montagnola in 2010.
