Biography
Juan Jover Sañes was born in Barcelona in 1903. In 1947 he finished sixth in the Bari Grand Prix for Scuderia Milano-Maserati, and in 1948 he came seventh in the Albi Grand Prix. In 1949 he shared a car with Henri Louveau to take second place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Jover was entered in the 1951 Spanish Grand Prix, a round of the Formula One World Championship, in a Maserati. He qualified 18th but never started the race because of engine failure. He then turned to hillclimbing and, with Scuderia Pegaso, to endurance racing. He won the Gran Premio de Barajas in 1957 and the La Rabassada hillclimb in 1958. Jover died in a road accident near Sitges in Catalonia in 1960.
