Biography
John Riseley-Prichard was born in Hereford on 17 January 1924 and worked as an insurance broker. He first got a feel for motor racing in a Riley road car. Later he purchased a used Connaught Type A from the Rob Walker Racing Team. In that car he started the British Grand Prix on 17 July 1954, his only World Championship race. He spun off and scored no points. Outside the championship, he won the 1954 I Cornwall MRC Formula 1 Race.
In 1955 he shared an Aston Martin with Tony Brooks in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He stopped racing after that event. Later the same year he let Brooks drive his Connaught, which gave the future Vanwall and Ferrari driver his first major opportunity. Riseley-Prichard died on 8 July 1993.
