Biography
Graham Whitehead was born in Harrogate, England, on 15 April 1922. He began racing in 1951, driving his half-brother Peter Whitehead's ERA. Peter was also a racing driver.
He made a single start in the Formula One World Championship, at the British Grand Prix on 19 July 1952. Driving a Formula Two Alta, he finished 12th and scored no points. He also took part in several non-championship Formula One races. That same year he finished second in the first Goodwood Nine Hours, sharing the Ferrari of the American Tom Cole. In 1958 he took second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Only weeks later Peter was killed in an accident during the Tour de France. Graham later raced again, in an Aston Martin and a Ferrari 250GT, and stopped at the end of 1961. He died on 15 January 1981.
