Biography
Frank Dochnal was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1920. He raced in Missouri and enjoyed some success in local competition there.
At the age of 43 he tried to qualify for the 1963 Mexican Grand Prix in a Cooper T51. It was his only attempt of this kind. He failed after crashing during unofficial practice. He never made a start in Formula One.
Afterwards he gave up driving and carried on working as a race mechanic. Later he served as a technical official for USAC. Dochnal died in 2010.
