Biography
Ernie McCoy was born on 19 February 1921 in Reading, Pennsylvania. His real name was Ernest Musser. He was an American racing driver and died on 4 February 2001.
From 1950 to 1960 the Indianapolis 500 counted towards the Formula One World Championship, and drivers who started there were credited with World Championship entries and points. That is how McCoy came to take part in two championship races: he drove a Stevens in 1953 and a Kurtis Kraft in 1954. He scored no points in either.
