Ernesto
Prinoth
Biography
Ernesto Prinoth was born in Urtijëi, Italy, on 15 April 1923. He began his Formula One career in 1961 in a Lotus 18, taking part in a number of races that did not count towards the World Championship. He finished on the podium twice.
In 1962 he entered the Italian Grand Prix with the backing of Scuderia Jolly Club but failed to qualify. It was his only attempt at a World Championship round, so he never started a championship race. He contested two further Formula One races in 1963, always in the same car. His son Erich also became a racing driver and competed in the Ferrari Challenge. Ernesto Prinoth died on 26 November 1981.
