Biography
Emilio Rodríguez Zapico was born in León, Spain, on 27 May 1944 and worked as a racing driver.
His only entry in a Formula One World Championship event was the 1976 Spanish Grand Prix, for Wolf-Williams. He failed to qualify, so he never started a championship race. The Williams FW04 he used was already a year old, and it was later run by Brian McGuire. Zapico returned to touring car racing in the 1980s and then ended his career.
He died on 6 August 1996 in an aircraft accident at Huete, Spain, while piloting an ultralight.
