Divina
Galica
Biography
Divina Galica was born in 1944 in Bushey Heath, Hertfordshire, and was first active as a skier. She made her Olympic debut at the 1964 Winter Games in Innsbruck and captained the British women's team in 1968 and 1972. In both of those years she finished in the top ten in the giant slalom, and in 1968 she took two third places in World Cup downhill races. She competed at a fourth Winter Olympics in 1992, this time in speed skiing.
In motor racing she began in karts and later moved up to Formula Two. In 1976 she was entered in a Surtees for the British Grand Prix but failed to qualify. In 1978 she joined Hesketh, and with the 308E she failed to qualify for each of the first two races of the season. That left her with three World Championship entries and no starts. She later raced sports cars and trucks and worked as an instructor at racing schools.
