Biography
Corrado Fabi was born in Milan on 12 April 1961. He took up karting as a teenager, racing for the Birel team, and made his Formula Three debut in 1979 at the age of 18. In 1980 he was a team-mate of Michele Alboreto at Euroracing and finished third in the European Formula Three championship. He moved up to Formula Two in 1981 and won the title in 1982 driving a March-BMW. His elder brother Teo Fabi was also a racing driver.
Fabi made his Formula One debut in 1983 with Osella at the Brazilian Grand Prix. He was entered for 15 races that year and started nine of them. The car was uncompetitive, yet he regularly qualified ahead of his team-mate Piercarlo Ghinzani. In 1984 he shared a Brabham seat with Teo, taking the car when his brother was unavailable because of his CART commitments in the United States. He was entered for three races that season and started all of them.
In total Fabi was entered for 18 Grands Prix and started 12, without scoring a point. When further opportunities in Formula One failed to appear, he raced briefly in CART and then retired from racing.
