Biography
Charles Russell "Chuck" Arnold was born in Stamford, United States, on 30 May 1926. He raced sporadically in the American USAC Championship Car series between 1959 and 1968, making 11 starts. He finished in the top ten twice, with a fifth place at Trenton in 1959 as his best result.
Arnold's Formula One record comes from the 1959 Indianapolis 500. The race counted towards the Drivers' World Championship from 1950 to 1960. Arnold started that race in a Kurtis Kraft. It was his only World Championship race, so he is counted among the Indy 500 drivers of Formula One.
Chuck Arnold died on 4 September 1997.
