Biography

Bertil Roos was born in Gothenburg on 12 October 1943. In 1973 he won the US Formula Super Vee title. He also raced in Formula 2 in Europe and in Formula Atlantic in Canada.

His only Formula One race came in 1974 with Shadow, and it was his home Grand Prix. He retired with a transmission failure. He then returned to the United States and Canada and carried on racing there. He worked as senior driving instructor at a racing school in Pennsylvania, close to Pocono Raceway. He was twice Can-Am champion in the 2 litre and under category and was still racing in the 1980s. Bertil Roos died on 31 March 2016.
