Alberto
Crespo
Biography
Alberto Augusto Crespo was an Argentine racing driver, born in Buenos Aires on 16 January 1920. In 1952 he drove a Talbot-Lago T26C entered by Antonio Lago in the Daily Mail Trophy, qualifying 12th and finishing 10th.
That same year he was entered in the Italian Grand Prix, a round of the Formula One World Championship, in a Maserati entered by Enrico Platé. His qualifying time was the 26th fastest among 35 entries, but only the quickest 24 made the grid, so he failed to qualify and never started a championship race. In 1953 he took part in the Buenos Aires Grand Prix in an Alfa Romeo and finished 11th.
After his racing career ended, he stayed involved in the administration of Argentine motorsport until his death on 14 August 1991.
